What We Do

Site Preparation
Our grading crews understand the intricate aspects of preparing your site for paving, resulting in a project that you will assuredly be very happy with. Asphalt paving projects demand tighter tolerances than an area that will have grass or landscaping installed because base stone thickness as well as adequate and uniform pitch are of critical importance. Grading of the area is performed as necessary to establish desired grade and drainage. If necessary, an aggregate base course (ABC) is placed and compacted.

Paving and asphalt installation
Asphalt paving surfaces are designed to provide all-weather use. The aesthetics of any property are enhanced by the clean, smooth look of professionally constructed pavement. Other benefits include enhanced safety because tripping hazards are minimized, improved dust control, and reduced asphalt maintenance time. A specifically designed asphalt mix is applied to present a finished surface based on the customer's needs.

Overlay
An overlay adds structural capacity, riding comfort and skid resistance, which adds to the good look and safety. New overlays are aesthetically pleasing, as well as structurally sound and cost efficient. If your project has a stable base stone course, the asphalt is basically structurally sound, and water drainage (pitch) poses no particular problems, it should be a candidate for overlay. A standard asphalt paving overlay consists of a new layer of asphalt applied over the existing asphalt surface. The thickness of an overlay is typically 2 inches, but type and amount of traffic as well as individual customer's needs are also considered. The existing asphalt paving surface may be milled if grades need to be maintained or altered, or a fabric may need to be applied to ensure maximum results from the overlay.

Remove and replace patching
Removal & replacement of asphalt is a more permanent and more costly method of repairing deteriorated asphalt of isolated areas of intensive cracking, whether the cracking is load associated (alligator) or environmental or construction related. Full depth repairs involve the removal of the complete pavement down to the subgrade or to an intermediate subbase layer that is intact. Once the deteriorated asphalt has been removed and disposed of, the base is inspected and repaired as needed. Tack coat primer is then applied to all edges to bind the new asphalt to the existing. The new fresh asphalt is then installed in two layers, compacting each layer individually for a more stable permanent patch.

Crack sealing
Crack Sealing is often used as the first line of defense against pavement deterioration, because it protects the base and/or sub base from erosion which results in further cracking, pot holes and eventually total pavement failure. We use a quality "hot pour" sealing rubber. The cracksealing material is applied to the cracked surface after the region has been air pressure cleaned to remove silt, dirt, etc. The hot sealer is then "squeegee sealed" on the area from water and grime.

Sealcoat
Sealcoat on your asphalt paving is a preventive measure to help protect your asphalt paving investment. The harsh effects of gas, oil, salt, and sun oxidation will deteriorate your asphalt over time. Asphalt Sealing also beautifies your property's overall appearance.
